Every 19 months, Venus, the brightest star in the sky, disappears from sight.

As the closest planet to Earth, she is the ruler of love and beauty, and manifests in our senses as two things we rarely tell apart:

Desire, the hunger which seeks what is not yet possessed

and Pleasure, the satiation from receiving the fullness that is already present.

When she is Morning star, Venus is desire.

And when she is evening star, Venus is pleasure.

Between morning and evening, in her retrograde phase, she rests.​

For 40 days and 40 nights, love stops seeking outward and finds what has always been available from within.
